What is the Climate Change Challenge?
Digital Camp is joining efforts with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford by inviting students (aged 15-18) and teachers from around the world to help tackle the climate crisis and join the Burjeel Holdings-Oxford Saïd Climate Change Challenge for a chance to build green tech projects and experience opportunities of a lifetime.
Bring your innovation, creativity, and problem solving skills together to create solutions at a local, national or global level under 5 key climate change challenge areas:
- Air pollution
- Extreme Weather Events
- Food Security
- The Spread of Disease Carried by Insects
- Water Scarcity
Digital Camp will show you how to prepare, build green tech projects, and launch your own business with support from mentors!
Why Join the Challenge?
By entering the Climate Change Challenge, you will:
- Gain valuable experience by creating your own green tech projects
- Earn a certificate to put on your CV and LinkedIn profile
- Learn from industry and sustainability professionals
Finalists of the Climate Change Challenge will be invited to present their solutions to a distinguished audience in Dubai, during COP28 on 8th December 2023, and winners will be invited to the United Kingdom where they will be given the unique opportunity to take part in a tailored climate change programme at Saïd Business School in Oxford next year, led by world-leading academics.
For finalists and winners, all expenses will be covered by Burjeel Holdings and Oxford Saïd. They will also gain access to a vibrant community of influential entrepreneurs and thought leaders in innovation and social impact from around the globe.

What do I need to prepare?
Student Teams
We want you to set out your big idea, explain your inspiration, show how you think it will make a difference and consider how your solution could be turned into a reality. Your team can include students from just a single school, or from multiple schools. Entries must:
- Be from a team of 3-5 students aged 15-18. Entries from individuals will not be accepted
- Be submitted in the form of a 10-page PowerPoint presentation
- Include a video you have made, up to three minutes in length
- Include a completed consent form for each student, signed by a parent or guardian
Teachers
We are asking high school teachers to set the agenda in the classroom with lessons that raise awareness among students about the dangers of climate change, and encourages them to think creatively about solving. Entries must:
- Be from an individual teacher, team entries will not be accepted
- Be in the form of lesson plans that integrate climate change awareness into your school’s curriculum
- Integrate interactive activities for critical thinking
- Show how they support students in creating real-world solutions to climate change.

Register to learn more, join the Digital Camp free workshop on Sept 23rd and connect with students around the world to start building ideas.
Build Your Project
In addition, all Digital Incubator participants will be invited to present projects to a panel of professionals at our next Digital Camp in October for a chance to win more prizes from Digital Camp.
Selected teams will be invited to an opportunity to receive further support in our Digital Incubator- Phase 2 programme starting November, where you can bring your project to life with help from tech, business, and sustainability professionals.
Submit
To enter the Climate Change Challenge and to join our Digital Community, upload your 10-page presentation, 3-minute video, and consent forms through the link below, through which all entries supported by Digital Camp must be submitted. Please note:
- There is no charge for entering the competition
- Entries must be received by 15th October 2023
Digital Community members will receive access to special programmes and offers from Digital Camp and Digital Academy to help you build your digital skills, green tech projects, and connect to people and resources around the world.

Build Your Project
Have you got an idea already? Get a head start by joining our 4-week Digital Incubator kicking off on September 19th
You will learn how to develop your project value proposition, plan, presentation, and video pitch to put your best self forward for the Climate Change Challenge and for other potential supporters with help from mentors.
All Digital Incubator participants will be invited to present projects to a panel of professionals at our next Digital Camp in October for a chance to win prizes and to gain further support in our Digital Incubator starting November, you can bring your project to life with help from tech, business, and sustainability professionals.
Note: Digital Camp participants of the Climate Change Challenge will be judged as all other entrants and there is no guarantee that their entries will be shortlisted.
